We were tasked with designing a typographic poster to visually convey the chosen "quote of the day" using typography.
2.2 Rationale
For the typography, I chose Helvetica because it is simple and easy to read, which makes the quote clear and straightforward. I wanted the font to feel modern and clean, so it wouldn’t take away from the overall design. The quote is placed at the bottom of the artwork because the floor is darker than the sky, creating a strong contrast that helps the white text stand out.
To highlight the main idea of the quote, I used a clipping mask to add bright, colorful tones to the words “the power.” This makes these words pop and feel more energetic, matching the theme of finding positivity on a gloomy day. By using vibrant colors only on these words, they draw the viewer’s attention and emphasize the importance of the message. The rest of the text is kept white to keep it simple and not overly distracting.
These choices were made to reflect the meaning of the quote and tie it to the design’s theme of bringing energy and brightness into dull or difficult moments. The typography helps communicate the idea that even something small, like a good outfit, can bring light and positivity into a bad day.

4. REFLECTIONS
In this project, I used different tools and techniques in multiple software to complete the design. I started with Procreate to sketch the idea and plan the composition. After that, I moved to Photoshop to adjust the colors using curves and levels, making the design more vibrant. I also used masking techniques from a previous assignment to make the person and umbrella stand out more against the gray background.
For the final step, I used Adobe Illustrator to add the text. I styled the quote to highlight the words "the power," making them colorful and bold to draw attention and strengthen the message.
This project helped me improve my skills in using different software together. I enjoyed seeing how each step came together to create a design that really stands out.
