3.2 Landing Page Process
After selecting the reference landing page, I imported it into Adobe Illustrator to use as a base layout. I then overlaid my previously completed character splash art onto the composition. Next, I explored and selected a typeface that closely matched the reference in order to maintain visual consistency with the Overwatch aesthetic.
I refined the overall composition by adjusting the layout and incorporating key interface elements from the original home screen into my design, helping to give the splash art a more polished and official appearance. Following this, I created a simple background that adhered to the original color palette to ensure cohesion with the reference material.
During feedback, Sir Fitri noted that the lighting in my version differed from that of the reference. As the splash art was already finalized, major lighting adjustments were not feasible. Instead, I addressed this issue by modifying the background colors to more closely match the lighting and atmosphere of the reference image. I also fixed the text typography to make it fit better with the original. The splash art looked much better with the new background.
3.3 Character Board Compilation Process
For the Board Compilation, we were permitted to use Canva, and I chose to work with both Canva and Procreate as my primary tools, as most of the artwork was created in Procreate. I transferred all the necessary assets and information for the Character Board Compilation via AirDrop and experimented with different layout arrangements to achieve a clear and balanced presentation.
I designed the cover background by adjusting colors and layering elements until I achieved a dramatic and visually engaging result. To ensure the presentation remained consistent with the Overwatch brand, I researched official Overwatch teasers and announcements, as these often showcase character information, abilities, and the hero selection interface. These materials were used as visual references to guide the structure and styling of my presentation, helping it feel more authentic and aligned with the Overwatch aesthetic.

Sir Fitri noted that the lighting in my version differed from that of the reference, particularly in terms of mood and overall visual balance. As the splash art had already been finalized at that stage, making significant lighting adjustments to the character itself was not feasible without reworking the entire illustration.
6. REFLECTIONS
Experience
For the final task, I felt relatively calm and confident when creating the landing page, as the process was more straightforward with the splash art already completed. However, I found the board compilation more challenging, particularly when arranging the images in a clean and cohesive layout. Some of the visuals appeared less effective once their backgrounds were removed, which required additional refinement.
I repeatedly adjusted the layout and experimented with different color combinations to improve visual balance and clarity. Despite these challenges, I enjoyed the process and ultimately felt satisfied with the final outcome, as the effort allowed me to better understand layout design and presentation refinement.
Observation
I observed that the Overwatch landing page style is relatively minimalistic when compared to games such as Genshin Impact or Honkai: Star Rail. Overwatch also utilizes a distinct typographic style that is difficult to replicate exactly; while I was able to find a similar typeface, it was not an exact match.
Additionally, I learned that strong attention to layout and color harmony is crucial when creating a compilation board. Even if the artwork itself is well executed, poor layout decisions can significantly reduce the overall quality and make the presentation appear less refined.
Findings
Throughout the task, I learned that having a strong reference template and a well-developed mood board greatly improves the overall quality of a compilation. I also found that layout and color adjustments play a significant role in shaping how an audience perceives and emotionally responds to a compilation or artwork.
